I am a Colombian-born, San Francisco Bay Area-based interdisciplinary artist, heartshop facilitator with a Masters in expressive arts therapy. Mucho gusto! Nice to meet you!
My practice is centered around the intersections of Catholic faith, creativity, and embodiment in all ages. I specialize in using metaphor, movement, play, and all expressive arts modalities to facilitate learning, expression, and re-connection for all individuals, groups, and communities. I am committed to making creativity accessible to all as a tool for personal and social change.
My metaphorical pedagogy involves participatory action for all ages and abilities with an emphasis on trauma healing, grief processing, transitions, and reconstructions. Offerings range from body awareness to symbolizing found objects around us to using dramatic play, visual arts, and dynamic engagement with nature. I have presented at international conferences and all over the SF bay area.
With 15 yrs of experience in educational systems, I also offer consultation/training, around systemic support, mural making, trauma-informed teaching, organizational and relational dynamics, and healing practices for all members of school communities. I currently serve the Diocese of Oakland, CA and offer heartshops online and in-person.
